U.S. Marines Killed in Air Crash in Australia

Three US Marine Corps personnel were killed when a military plane crashed in Darwin,

Australia, during a routine training exercise on Sunday.

The aircraft, an MV-22B Osprey, crashed on Melville Island around 9:30 a.m. local time while transporting troops

 According to a statement from the Marine Rotational Force.

Five more people were sent to Royal Darwin Hospital in critical condition. 

According to the statement, the Marines were participating in Exercise Predator Run

A combined military exercise involving forces from the Philippines, Indonesia, and Timor-Leste.

According to the statement, recovery efforts are ongoing, and an inquiry into the reason of the incident is underway.
