After trading their former first-round draft pick to the Dallas Cowboys last week, the San Francisco 49ers appear to have forgiven Trey Lance.
Lance, on the other hand, appears to be ready to leave the club and embark on his new NFL career.
Lance indicated his wish to "move on" from the situation on Tuesday, speaking with media for the first time
since the Niners sent him to Dallas in exchange for a fourth-round choice, and take in as much as he could behind
"First and foremost, I'm very happy to be here. "I'm just excited to keep getting to know the guys," Lance added.
"Obviously, it's just learning for me, taking it one day at a time, not trying to look too far ahead or anything like that."
But for the time being, I'm simply trying to be a sponge, learning and enjoying every day."
Lance was selected as the third overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers.
