The NFL world responds to the Patriots' quarterback switch.

Just under three weeks after claiming quarterback Matt Corral off waivers, the New England Patriots have decided to release him off their roster.

The Carolina Panthers selected Corral in the third round of the 2022 draft, however due to an injury, he did not participate in any games that year.

The Panthers released him on August 30, and the Patriots claimed him the following day. However,

the former star of Ole Miss football quit the team on September 9 and didn't return for work for a few days, which prompted the Patriots to place him on the exempt/left squad list.

At the time, Henry McKenna of Fox Sports reported that a source claimed Corral "just kind of flaked off.... Let's make sure this person doesn't end up being thrown to the wolves, shall we?

Two days later, head coach Bill Belichick provided no new information on the matter, stating only that "He's on exempt status.

Regarding the topic, I have nothing to say. That is something that only you can decide.

Another quarterback move was made by the Patriots on Monday, when they removed quarterback Ian Book from the practice squad.

Corral, who battled depression in the public eye while he was a student at Ole Miss, was seemingly in good physical health.

After hearing the news on Monday, many people in the NFL world wished Corral the best of luck, considering the prior allegation on the Patriots cutting ties with him.
