The Buffalo Bills' quarterback is injured to begin the season.

During the hectic day on Tuesday, the Buffalo Bills placed a quarterback on injured reserve. The Bills completed their 53-man roster cut before the 4 p.m. deadline, announcing multiple roster adjustments.

The Bills were able to announce the victor of the QB2 position out of camp to back up star quarterback Josh Allen.

Following an injury during the preseason, Kyle Allen now has that position.

The Buffalo Bills are in first place. Matt Barkley is on indefinite leave.

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Bills have placed Matt Barkley on injured reserve.

Barkley is dealing with an elbow problem. Since the 2022 season, he has been with the Bills.

The Bills will rely on Kyle Allen, 27, to fill in for Josh Allen until Barkley returns. In his five-year NFL career, Kyle has started 19 games.

During that time, he has passed for nearly 4,700 yards and has 26 touchdowns to 21 interceptions.

The Bills' backup status for Allen ahead of the 2023 regular season is problematic. The Buffalo Bills have been considered as a possible trade partner for a quarterback this season.

Arch Manning has not clinched Texas' backup quarterback position.
