Seahawks Trade $5.9 Million Receiver to NFC Contender

The Seattle Seahawks must decide on Dee Eskridge's future, and some observers think they may trade him.

Alex Ballentine of Bleacher Report thinks the Seahawks trade Eskridge to the Eagles for a fresh start.

“The Seahawks’ decision to draft Jaxon Smith-Njigba this year should be the final indication that they’ve given up on Eskridge,” Ballentine wrote on August 24, 2023.

“Even a late Day 3 pick could help them move on and receive something in return. The Eagles are a potential team to contact.

Bo Wulf of The Athletic linked the reigning NFC Champions to the fast receiver this summer.

Ballentine wants Seattle to trade Eskridge for a late-round pick. Despite being a second-round choice, Eskridge has only caught one touchdown in his first two seasons in Seattle.

The league suspended Eskridge for six games after a busy offseason.

The good news is that Seattle has receiver depth, making Eskridge expendable. Seattle expects DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba to be its top three receivers.
