Over the last decade, one of the most fascinating aspects of the NBA has been its players' social media engagement.
In addition to what players are tweeting, fans are constantly checking X (previously Twitter) for information on rumors, signings, and trades.
On August 22, NBA Alerts (which analyzes the NBA world's social media behavior) revealed that Phoenix Suns superstar Devin Booker unfollowed Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant on X.
Booker has 1.2 million followers and currently follows 167 people, whilst Morant has 2.7 million followers but only follows 116.
It's unknown how long Booker had previously followed Morant, and Morant does not appear to be following Booker right now.
The NBA Alerts post received over 54,000 impressions and 423 likes.
In 53 regular-season games last season, Booker averaged 27.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 1.0 steals while shooting 49.4% from the field and 35.1% from three-point range.
The Suns finished fourth in the Western Conference and were eliminated in the second round of the NBA playoffs by the Denver Nuggets.
