Coach Zac Taylor told reporters on Wednesday that Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow will miss “several weeks” after a right calf strain on July 28.
“The timeline [Burrow's return] is several weeks from when I said several weeks,” Taylor said.
Burrow injured his right calf in a training camp session. The Cincinnati signal caller pulled up lame on a non-contact injury while scrambling out of the pocket late in practice.
Bengals star wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase said his quarterback "shouldn't see the field" during preseason or Week 1 to rest his calf.
“I just want him to play 100% healthy. I don't want him rushed or told when to play. Chase told FOX-19 TV in Cincinnati's Jeremy Rauch, "I just want him to be healthy."
