Buffalo Bills have released eight players, including DE Ray, Shane

The Buffalo Bills released eight players on Sunday as they begin to cut their roster ahead of the start of the season on Tuesday,

including DE Shane Ray, who was released with an injury settlement from IR.

Ray, 29, was a first-round choice of the Broncos in 2015.

In 2018, Denver declined his fifth-year option, and he completed his four-year, $9.116 million rookie contract.

Ray signed a one-year, $1.2 million contract with the Ravens in 2019.

He was, however, one of their final roster cuts during the preseason.

Ray worked out with the Falcons, Colts, Jets, Bears, and Cardinals after that, but he hasn't played in an NFL game since the 2018 season.

He joined with the CFL's Toronto Argonauts in February 2021 and played for the organization for two seasons. He signed a one-year contract with the Bills in May.
