Star tight end Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs injured his hyperextended knee during practice on Tuesday.
The future Hall of Famer and his crew fortunately averted the worst case situation.
The NFL Network's Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport report that Kelce's injury isn't thought to be "long-term".
However, his availability for Thursday night's game against the Detroit Lions in Week 1 "is in doubt."
Kelce and the Chiefs can definitely breathe a sense of relief. But with the start of the season now just two days away,
the Chiefs must be ready for the very real potential that their best offensive weapon may not be available for Week 1.
Since his sophomore year in 2014, when he was 33, the player has played at least 15 games year,
demonstrating his incredible durability. Six times with the Chiefs during the regular season, Kelce has made an appearance.
