Teams throughout the NFL are reducing their rosters to 53 players before the start of the 2023 season.
There have been a few unexpected roster moves in the last few days. The Bills eventually made a decision on defensive back Damar Hamlin.
According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Hamlin was named to the team's 53-man roster.
"Damar Hamlin has made the #Bills' 53-man roster," Pelissero announced on Twitter. "Hamlin has been working in camp as a backup safety
and special teamer as he continues to make his way back after suffering a cardiac arrest on the field in January.
"Only eight months ago, Hamlin's football career was a footnote in front of millions of fans as he lay lifeless.
After going into cardiac arrest during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals, the question wasn't whether he'd play again,
but if he'd live. He's still alive and healthy, and he's just made the 53-man roster for one of the NFL's most stocked teams.
