Ben VanSumeren, joined the Philadelpha Eagles practice squad, is on the verge of an NFL goal.

VanSumeren may be the 54th member on a 53-man roster. But that has him ready to enter the NFL.

The Philadelphia Eagles cut their roster to 53 on Tuesday, disappointing Essexville Garber and Michigan State University product.

He was assigned to the 12-player practice squad the next day, which was better.

The experience was wonderful. The Eagles are great, VanSumeren stated.

“I’m feeling good and grateful, as always.” The 6-foot-2, 230-pound linebacker will practice with the Eagles and be eligible for the game day roster at any moment.

Workout players can join any NFL team that wants them on the roster.

The Eagles signed VanSumeren as a free agent after he impressed with his 42.5-inch vertical leap, 10-foot-11 broad jump,

and 29 reps on the 225-pound bench press at the MSU Pro Day, which would have placed him first among linebackers at the NFL Scouting Combine.
